Value of fixing Facebook/Myspace/YouTube?

Value of fixing Facebook/Myspace/YouTube?
Has anybody here set up two proxy's - one with mods for fixing all the social networking sites, and one without any mods, and then see how they compare monetarily? Is it worth the extra effort that goes into always chasing after the latest fix? I mean, if the ads are on the front page, what value is there in keeping them on bandwidth intensive sites? Is it just so that the come back?

With these mods that allows users to access myspace well, the users will generally come back, not just that but they will tell their friends about it as well and your traffic will go up.

Without those mods traffic just goes down as well as revenue. So no point promoting a proxy that doesnt work for your users.

If you're planning to use a YouTube mod, enjoy the immense bandwidth usage.

By the sounds of it, I can forget the YouTube mod, but the myspace and facebook ones are vital.

I agree the facebook one is needed. You can't post comments on facebook for some rreason...
and there are some proxy owners advertisering there site has a "facebook proxy" yet the [censored] thing can't login to a SSL connection

Isn't that only with PHProxy? Can't that be tweaked?

PHProxy has problems in allowing users to comment and send bulletins as well. We will work out a mod for that soon.

The glype script works with myspace and facebook you just have to tweak the settings and a modded phproxy will run both fine. As for youtube, you could mod either script to work but unless its for your personal use, don't waste your time or more importantly money.
