Tips to run a succesful newsletter

I posted a subscribe box on a few of my proxies at the beginning of the month and I am getting about 10 sign-ups a day, I have never sent out a newsletter myself before and would greatly appreciate any tips anyone could give on how to do it correctly or succesfully.

RE: Tips to run a succesful newsletter

This may seem offtopic but what is the point of a newsletter on a proxy site?

It gives you a base of users. Proxies get blocked so people will sign up to newsletters that send out a list of proxies each week. Instead of them going to a new proxy after yours is blocked a newsletter lets you inform your users of newly made proxies that arent blocked yet.

if you get enough subscribers (1000+) you can sell ($$$$) a link per e-mail over at DP, an example would be forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=540877

Oh yeah + free advertising for your new proxy sites Great

Oh yeah, I thought of using google groups but gmail mails always seem to end up in hotmails junk folder =/

I think vahsi is creating a mod right now jsut for this alone.

Why not try removing the word proxy from the newsletters. According to hotmail and Gmail. The word "proxy" & "Proxies" are on there spam list

Hmm not just that, but there are a lot of times when mails that came from google ended up in my junk mail folder instead while using hotmail.

Mails as in say I email you with my gmail account?
I signed up to my newsletter with a gmail and yahoo account and the one newsletter Ive sent out hasnt been caught in the spam filter and thats with "Novembers list of proxies" as the title. I guess you could set google groups up to send the newsletter through a domain if you were really worried about it being thrown in the spam box.
