Sorry,I misread the part about about archiving,you cant do google groups through another domain. You would need a 3rd party newsletter software to do that.

No guys any email sent through automated script reach in spam folder in gmail. i dont know about others.

I send a proxy newsletter 3-4 times a week. Some subscribers will sign up a second time, probably not getting emails or the wrong address was entered. I have sent some of these a separate email telling them to "whitelist" the newsletter. This can be time consuming if you have a large list. I have also used AWeber paid service but the results are about the same if I use my own program. I am currently using Mailing List Deluxe and an auto responder to save money. I promote the newsletter separately from my proxylist site. I have to target users who want new proxy sites without having to search websites or newsgroups. Just a few I use are New-List.com, Yahoo and Google groups,stumbles, etc. I'm getting good results promoting the newsletter the same as a proxy site but most of the subscribers will sign-up while using a proxy with a email form near the top of the page. Experiment with placement so your advertising stands out rather than your email form. I send the newsletter with 4-6 proxy links and below the links I ask subscribers to pass the list on to friends and place a link for them to subscribe. You will get additional sign-ups daily using this method.

I like yahoo better because sometimes people forget to put an email to receive messages with so its no really good for you.

I am thinking of starting my own.

I am using feedburner email delivery on my blog http://p13.info Best I could say ..... you can brand it with yoursite.
Only problem is user need to click link in email to activate subscription.
