Well, if u see carefully, the free review copies are usually attained easily by the people who have high itrader and good repps at DP. Hope that explains why people need repps

in almost every thread I have seen the seller wants someone with a certain amount of itrader & posts, I really haven't seen a post where they ask for people with high rep. You can read the comments from the people who left itrader, I don't think you can do the same for reps.

Yeap I agree with Anubis. Sellers mainly look out for iTraders only, I have never seen any seller asking for a certain amount of reps before giving out a free review copy.

@niceboy: Yeah I like the name too, maybe not surpass DP at its current state but rather go into topics that DP does not really talk about yet related to the webmaster world.

With the right marketing and promotion it could. DP is getting out of hand IMHO. Too many people there just asking the same questions over and over and over again.

There's still lots of good info there but I prefer a site like WPT that has less people but better quality discussions.

It's great to have a huge site for making money and all but once a site gets big like DP it becomes full of crap and hard for the experience people to get info because you have tons of newbies making stupid comments (yes I've done it too ).

Hmm I know there are some private forums like affiliate-marketing-school dot com that has a private forum and you need an invitation code to join the forum. That's only where the gurus hang out and there are tons of good info there.

What do ya guys think of creating such a forum that has tons of good info but only the experience members join instead of all the newbies. Any ideas what kind of niche you guys might be interested in that could lead to a good forum?

Well I think private webmaster forum would be great.

There is already many webmaster forums. its only need to be exposed.
Such as webmaster-talk.com, webtalkforums.com, forum.triphp.com etc..

private forum is a great idea IF it has so many stuff and benefits for others..such as great tips by marketing gurus, etc..not just a normal discussion place like DP, WTF TRI, etc.
