Anyone going to succeed Mr. Arif?
Since Abdullah Arif has disavowed phproxy(see below), Does anyone know of a person or persons that will continue to develop it?

Quote:As of September 7th 2007, I, Abdullah Arif (eugee, ultimategamer00, uG, et cetera), completely renounce and disavow the PHProxy (poxy) project and all past and future works and derivatives based on the PHProxy script. I will no longer continue development nor support for this script. I relinquish all rights and disclaim all responsibilities associated. This decision is final. Thanks to everyone for their support.

On a related note, if you are able to proficiently mod phproxy shoot me a pm.

RE: Anyone going to succeed Mr. Arif?
Hmm... it's a shame he disavowed php proxy (especially when the script has become so popular). I think it's only a matter of time someone ascends into his role (supply & demand). Although there are quiet a few people right now who can easily make the updates (at DP forums) they choose to monetize this opportunity by selling the upgrades.

I've actually started learning how php proxy script works 2-3 weeks ago, I've made a youtube mod (but it hasn't been confirmed if it works behing a blocked computer or not) and i've got few other projects on my mind.

If there are any other php enthusiasts here at WPT, i'd definitely would like to partner up with them to generate some great mods for php proxy.

RE: Anyone going to succeed Mr. Arif?
because its a free script and open source, i hope some one will pick it up and make new version of it.

any way because its open source. i guess you can find alot comercial proxyscript that just look a like. IMHO they just create several mod, such as: give template sistem, curl method, admin menu, youtube and myspace mode, etc. and then they sell the script. lol Mdr

Hurry...! Submit yout proxy to my list!

That's exactly what they do...
But none of those paid proxies will survive (unless someone who's really good at php writes a script from scratch and it has major improvements over the opensource version) because they're paid, the owner encrypts them (with ioncube these days). These members only code for passive income and not as a long term project, so most likely these kind script sales will drop off the marketplace once someone takes over the maintenance of php proxy script and the sales of commercial scripts greatly reduce.

I read over at proxy.org (http://proxy.org/forum/1189180888.html) that because he is from Iran that maybe he was forced to stop development. Kinda like how Sony forced UKLightning over at Doom9 to stop development & hand over the source code to DVDDecryptor.
